We missed being together in the State House, but we're excited for us to come together virtually and advocate for the policies and resources that are important to our members and their communities. MACDC's policy agenda in 2021 will address both the immediate needs created by the COVID-19 pandemic and economic crisis, as well as the long-term structural issues in our economy in our economy that have been our focus for years.

In spring of 2020, just as COVID was ramping up, Judy O’Kulsky began knocking on her neighbors’ doors at the public housing development where she lives in Belchertown, MA. Judy was able to get her neighbors involved in a newly forming tenant group.

2020 was a year unlike any other, and (we hope) will not be replicated any time soon. The human cost of the COVID-19 pandemic has been catastrophic, with more than 3 million people dying worldwide, and well over half a million deaths in the United States. The economic fallout from the pandemic has been no less severe.
