Support the Extension and Expansion of the Community Investment Tax Credit (CITC) Program
This legislative session, MACDC is leading the charge to pass legislation that will eliminate the program’s 2025 sunset and expand the statewide cap on donations from $12 million to $15 million, so that in partnership with the Commonwealth, the community development field can continue to flourish and meet the ongoing needs of community residents.

Because of CITC...
Worcester Common Ground created "the position of Resident Services Coordinator, which acts as a link for our tenants to receive services such as EBT/SNAP, WIC, advice with improving credit and applying for mortgages, as well as helping with accessing healthcare and various community-based programs. The Resident Services Coordinator position has added greatly to the network of services and support that Worcester Common Ground can directly provide and it builds authentic relationships and a sense of community between our staff and residents."
What is it?
A 50% refundable state tax credit for qualified donation of $1,000 or more.
A few quick CITC points since its launch in 2014:
- An incredible program supporting over 55 community-based nonprofits
- Over $100,000,000 raised for participating CDCs
- Over 15,000 donations
