MACDC GOALs InitiativeCommunity Development Corporations (CDCs) are community controlled, non-profit organizations that, for more than thirty years, have been working across the Commonwealth to build more inclusive, vibrant, and productive communities. Yet, the current economy and an enduring housing crisis require much more to be done. GOALs Initiative conducted every two-years by Massachusetts CDCs to set and achieve ambitious goals for themselves. Each year, MACDC will report on its members' progress toward fulfilling these goals.

Green CDCs Initiative: MACDC is partnering with New Ecology, Inc., the Tellus Institute and the Local Initiatives Support Corporation to sponsor this exciting program. The initiative offers training, technical assistance and assistance with identifying and accessing funding for CDCs pursuing environmentally sound and sustainable development projects. So far, more than a dozen CDCs have participated in this Initiative. The Initiative also conducts research on best practices and advocates with lenders and government agencies to adopt policies that will better support sustainable community development.
Commonwealth Workforce Coalition
MACDC is co-founder of the Commonwealth Workforce Coalition which provides training and networking opportunities for workforce development practitioners throughout the state. CWC evolved out of an earlier MACDC program to support CDC staff people in this field and now serves people working at all community based organizations in the state. CWC is managed by the Community Economic Development Assistance Corporation.
