Chris Harris

Senior Policy Advocate for Economic Development

Christopher Harris joined MACDC in February 2007.  He assists in leading strategic policy initiatives in small business development, workforce development and asset development, at the federal, state and local level.  He represents MACDC in partnerships for economic development with public agencies, and with private non-profit and for-profit organizations.  Chris serves member CDCs by facilitating their capacity-building efforts in community economic development. 

Before joining MACDC, Chris was a business banker with Citizens Bank at its Jamaica Plain branch.  In that role, he led his team through several quarters of successful sales performance and relationship management with small business clients.  He also worked briefly for Boston Private Bank in their Client Services division.  Chris’ career in banking began as a web developer and a systems analyst with the former FleetBoston Financial Corporation and ultimately Bank of America, where he served until July 2004. 

Chris earned his Bachelor of Arts from Wesleyan UniversityMiddletown, CT) in 2000.  He serves on the boards of a few community-based nonprofit organizations, including as Vice President of the Young Professionals Network of the Urban League of Eastern Massachusetts (YPN), and as Vice President of Project HIP-HOP.  Chris is a member of Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Jamaica Plain, MA.  Also, he is a native of Boston, and was raised in West Medford, MA.
